Sales stores

The first sales store passed the 1/3 and the second 2/5 of the total amount of goods. In the third store passed the 2/3 rest of the goods. The remaining 40 kg of goods put into fourth store. How many kilograms of goods pass to a third store?

Correct answer:

x =  80 kg

Step-by-step explanation:

x=(2/3) 3 40=80 kg

1/3y = 40
2/3y = x

1/3·y = 40
2/3·y = x

y = 120
3x-2y = 0

Pivot: Row 1 ↔ Row 2
3x-2y = 0
y = 120

y = 120/1 = 120
x = 0+2y/3 = 0+2 · 120/3 = 80

x = 80
y = 120
