# Two numbers

The sum of the two numbers is 1. Find both numbers if you know that half of the first is equal to one seventh of the second number.

Result

a =  0.222
b =  0.778

#### Solution:

a+b=1
a/2 = b/7

a+b = 1
7a-2b = 0

a = 2/9 ≈ 0.222222
b = 7/9 ≈ 0.777778
