# The perimeter 3

The perimeter of a rectangle is 35 cm. The ratio of the length to its width is 3:2. Calculate the dimensions of the rectangle

Correct result:

l =  10.5 cm
w =  7 cm

#### Solution:

$p=35 \ \text{cm} \ \\ n=3+2+3+2=10 \ \\ \ \\ d=p/n=35/10=\dfrac{ 7 }{ 2 }=3.5 \ \text{cm} \ \\ \ \\ l=3 \cdot \ d=3 \cdot \ 3.5=\dfrac{ 21 }{ 2 }=10.5 \ \text{cm}$
$w=2 \cdot \ d=2 \cdot \ 3.5=7 \ \text{cm}$
