Shoes and slippers

Shoes were three times as many as slippers. If shoes were cheaper by 120, they would be twice as expensive as slippers. How much did the shoes cost, and how much did the slippers?

Correct answer:

x =  360 Kc
y =  120 Kc

Step-by-step explanation:

x= 3y
x-120 = 2y

x= 3·y
x-120 = 2·y

x-3y = 0
x-2y = 120

Row 2 - Row 1 → Row 2
x-3y = 0
y = 120

y = 120/1 = 120
x = 0+3y = 0+3 · 120 = 360

x = 360
y = 120
