Train delay

Due to a breakdown, the train lost 16 minutes standing on the track behind Brno. He "eliminated" this delay so that after the start, the 80 km long section went at a speed 10 km/h higher than originally planned. What speed was it, and what was it supposed to be?

Correct answer:

v1 =  50 km/h
v2 =  60 km/h

Step-by-step explanation:

s=80 km v0=10 km/h t0=16 min h=16:60  h=0.26667 h  s = v1 t s = v2 (tt0) v2 = v1+v0  s = v1 t s = v2 tv2 t0 v2 = v1+v0  s = (v2v0) t s = v2 tv2 t0  s = v2 tv0 t s = v2 tv2 t0  80 = v1 t 80 = v2 (t16/60) v2 = v1+10  80 = v1 t ; 80 = (v1+v0) (t16/60) 80 = v1 t + v0 t 16/60 v1 16/60 v0  t=1.6 h  v1=s/t=80/1.6=50 km/h
v2=v1+v0=50+10=60 km/h
