Gardens

The area of the square garden is 3/4 of the area of the triangular garden with sides of 80 m, 50 m, and 50 m. How many meters of fence do we need to fence a square garden?

Correct answer:

x =  120 m

Step-by-step explanation:

a=80 m b=50 m c=50 m  b=c h2 = b2   (a/2)2  h=b2(a/2)2=502(80/2)2=30 m  S1=2a h=280 30=1200 m2  S2=43 S1=43 1200=43 1200=43600=900 m2  S2 = y2  y=S2=900=30 m  x=4 y=4 30=120=120 m   Verifying Solution:  s=(a+b+c)/2=(80+50+50)/2=90 m S3=s (sa) (sb) (sc)=90 (9080) (9050) (9050)=1200 m2 S3=S1

The four Triwizard champions are standing on the Quidditch Pitch as shown in the attached Marauder's Map. Each of them are standing in the respective centers of the four circles with different diameters as shown. Coincidentally, they are also forming a rectangle with dimensions 25x31. There is also a marked inclined rectangle which they can see in between them. The rectangle was marked with 672 pieces of squares with area one square unit each.
