# Store

One meter of the textile was discounted by 2 USD. Now 9 m of textile cost as before 8 m.

Calculate the old and new price of 1 m of the textile.

Correct result:

x =  18 USD/m
y =  16 USD/m

#### Solution:

$y=x-2 \ \\ 9 y = 8 x \ \\ \ \\ x = \dfrac{ 9\cdot 2}{ 9-8} = 18 \ \text{USD/m}$
$y = \dfrac{ 8\cdot 2}{ 9-8} = 16 \ \text{USD/m}$
