Practice problems of the unit conversion - page 79 of 111
The International System of Units (SI) is the standard system of units used in most countries around the world. It is based on seven base units: the meter for length, the kilogram for mass, the second for time, the ampere for electric current, the kelvin for temperature, the mole for amount of substance, and the candela for luminous intensity. These units can be converted to other units using conversion factors, such as the relationship between meters and centimeters (1 meter = 100 centimeters). Other common SI unit conversions include:1 liter = 1000 milliliters
1 gram = 1000 milligrams
1 joule = 1 watt-second
1 newton = 1 kilogram-meter per second squared
In the SI system, units can be multiplied or divided by powers of ten to create larger or smaller units. These multiples are called prefixes. The most common prefixes and their meanings are:
mega- (M) = 1,000,000 (e.g. 1 megahertz = 1,000,000 hertz)
kilo- (k) = 1000 (e.g. 1 kilogram = 1000 grams)
centi- (c) = 0.01 (e.g. 1 centimeter = 0.01 meters)
milli- (m) = 0.001 (e.g. 1 milliliter = 0.001 liters)
micro- (µ) = 0.000001 (e.g. 1 microgram = 0.000001 grams)
nano- (n) = 0.000000001 (e.g. 1 nanosecond = 0.000000001 seconds)
It is important to note that, when using these prefixes, the prefix should be written before the unit symbol.

A skier starts down a hill of length l and an angle of inclination of 10˚. It then moves to a horizontal section of the track, which travels the same length l until it stops. Determine the coefficient of sliding friction between the skis and the snow. - Copier paper
A standard package of printer and copier paper is labeled 80 g/m2, which means that one square meter of such paper weighs 80 g. How much does one sheet of A4 size (dimensions 210 × 297 mm) weigh? The result is rounded to whole grams. - Natural fertilizer
The gardener fertilized the rectangular garden measuring 120m and 60m with 16kg of natural fertilizer. Natural fertilizer contains 45% organic matter. How much organic matter falls on 1 m² of the garden? - Scale
The swimming pool is long 110 m and 30 m wide. The city's plan is shown as a rectangle with an area 8.25 cm². What scale is the city plan? - Isosceles trapezoid
Find the area of an isosceles trapezoid with bases of 8cm and 72mm. The height of the trapezoid is equal to three-quarters of the longer base. - A flagpole
A flagpole is leaning at an angle of 107° with the ground. A string fastened to the top of the flagpole is holding up the pole. The string makes an angle of 38° with the ground, and the flagpole is 8 m long. What is the length of the string? - Steeple
We see the church tower from the road at an angle of 52°. When we zoom out to 29 meters away, it can be seen at an angle of 21°. How high is it? - Ferdinand
Ferdinand went from place A to place B and from there to place C. A is 7.2 km from B, and B is 11.7 km from C. Albert went from place A to place D and from there to place C. D is 9.1 km from A and C is 10.8 km from D. Who traveled more and by how much? - Rectangular 13993
The plan of the fitness center is made on a scale of 1:150. The rectangular fitness center has 5cm and 6cm dimensions on the plan. How many euros will we pay to cover the fitness studio with a floating floor if we pay 12 euros for 1 m² of floating floor? - Mr. Gardener
Mr. Gardener wants to make wood for the balcony. Boxes. Each will have the shape of a perpendicular prism with a square base. The height is limited to 60 cm. He will fill each container with soil by pouring the whole bag of substrate sold into a package c - Laths
There are two laths in the garage opposite one another: one 2 meters long and the other 3 meters long. They fall against each other and lean against the opposite walls of the garage. Both laths touch at 70 cm above the garage floor. How wide is the garage - Dig water well
Mr. Zeman is digging a well. Its diameter is 120 cm and plans to be 3.5 meters deep. How long (at least) must be a ladder, after which Mr. Zeman would have eventually come out? - The tower
The observer sees the tower's base 96 meters high at a depth of 30 degrees and 10 minutes and the top of the tower at a depth of 20 degrees and 50 minutes. How high is the observer above the horizontal plane on which the tower stands? - Observation tower
The observation tower has a height of 105 m above sea level. The ship is aimed at a depth angle of 1° 49' from the tower. How far is the ship from the base of the tower? - A drone
A flying drone aimed the area for an architect. He took off perpendicularly from point C to point D. He was 300 m above ABC's plane. The drone from point D pointed at a BDC angle of 43°. Calculate the distance between points C and B in meters. - Observer's 82805
An airliner currently flying over a location 2,400 m away from the observer's location is seen at an elevation angle of 26° 20'. At what height does the plane fly? - Observatories 64424
Objective C we observe from two artillery observatories, A and B, which are 975 m apart. The size of the BAC angle is 63 °, and the size of ABC is 48 °. Calculate the distance of points A and C. - Telegraph poles
The bases of two adjacent telegraph poles have a height difference of 10.5 m. How long do the wires connect the two poles if the slope is 39° 30’? - Difference 6029
Between the resorts is 15km, and the climb is 13 per mille. What is the height difference? - Alcohol from potatoes
In the distillery, 10 hl of alcohol can make from 8 t of potatoes. The rectangular field with dimensions of 600 m and 200 m had a yield of 20 t of potatoes per hectare. How many square meters of area are potatoes grown to obtain one liter of alcohol?
