Fraction word problems - page 20 of 176
A fraction is a mathematical expression that represents a part of a whole. It is written as two numbers separated by a line or a slash, with the number on top called the numerator and the number on the bottom called the denominator. The numerator represents the number of parts of the whole being considered, and the denominator represents the total number of parts the whole is divided into. For example, if you have a pizza and you want to share it with 3 people, each person gets 1/3 of the pizza. The numerator (1) represents the number of parts each person gets, and the denominator (3) represents the total number of parts the pizza is divided into. Fractions can be simplified, compared, added, subtracted, multiplied, and divided like any other number.Number of problems found: 3511
