# Volume - math word problems

1. Water reservoir The water tank has a cuboid with edges a= 1 m, b=2 m , c = 1 m. Calculate how many centimeters of water level falls, if we fill fifteen 12 liters cans.
2. Volume increase How many percent will increase in the pool 50 m, width 15m if the level rises from 1m to 150cm?
3. Oak cuboid Oak timber is rectangular shaped with dimensions of 2m, 30 cm and 15 cm. It weight is 70 kg. Calculate the weight 1 dm³ of timber.

6. Railway wagon The railway wagon holds 75 m3 load. Wagon can carry a maximum weight of 30 tonnes. What is the maximum density that may have material with which we could fill this whole wagon? b) what amount of peat (density 350 kg/m3) can carry 15 wagons?
7. Syringe and patient In 1 ampoule of 2 ml is 15 mg of Dipidol. The patient should receive 10 mg. How much ml do I draw into the syringe?
8. Gasoline How many liters of gas is in the tank if its weight 15.4kg. Specific density of gasoline is 770kg/m3.
9. Cube-shaped box Design the size of the smallest possible cube-shaped box where three types of 3cm, 5cm, 6cm small cubes could be stacked to make full use of the box space (each type of cube separately). Can you find out how many smallest cubes are in the box?

11. Rainfall On Thursday, fell 1 cm rainfall. How many liters of water fell to rectangular garden with dimensions of 22 m x 35 m?
12. Scale factor A prism with a volume of 1458 mm3 is scaled down to a volume of 16mm3. What is the scale factor in fraction form?
13. Coolant The driver of the car cooler filled with a mixture of 3.9 liters and 2.6 liters of water antifreeze coolant. At what rate are this two components of the mixture?
14. Prism Calculate the height of the prism having a surface area 448.88 dm² wherein the base is square with a side of 6.2 dm. What will be its volume in hectoliters?
15. Brick wall Garden 70 m long and 48 m wide should surround with wall 2.1 meters high and 30 cm thick. Wall will be built on the garden ground. How many will we need bricks if to 1 m³ is required approximately 300 bricks?
16. Cube 1-2-3 Calculate the volume and surface area of the cube ABCDEFGH if: a) /AB/ = 4 cm b) perimeter of wall ABCD is 22 cm c) the sum of the lengths of all edges of the cube is 30 cm.
17. Four sided prism Calculate the volume and surface area of a regular quadrangular prism whose height is 28.6cm and the body diagonal forms a 50 degree angle with the base plane.
18. Vehicle tank A vehicle tank was 3/5 full of petrol. When 21 liters of fuel was added it was 5/6 full. How many liters of petrol can the tank hold?
19. Wood lumber Wooden lumber is 4 m long and has a cross section square with side 15 cm. Calculate: a) the volume of lumber b) the weight of the lumber if 1 m3 weighs 790 kg
20. Cuboid and eq2 Calculate the volume of cuboid with square base and height 6 cm if the surface area is 48 cm2.
