# Calculate

Calculate the square area if its perimeter is 14dm.

Result

S =  12.25 dm2

#### Solution:

$o=14 \ \text{dm} \ \\ \ \\ o=4a \ \\ a=o/4=14/4=\dfrac{ 7 }{ 2 }=3.5 \ \\ \ \\ S=a^2=a \cdot \ a \ \\ S=a \cdot \ a=3.5 \cdot \ 3.5=\dfrac{ 49 }{ 4 }=12.25 \ \text{dm}^2$
