# Wood 11

Father has 12 1/5 meters long wood. Then I cut the wood into two pieces. One part is 7 3/5 meters long. Calculate the length of the other wood?

Result

b =  4.6 m

#### Solution:

$f=12 + \dfrac{ 1 }{ 5 }=\dfrac{ 61 }{ 5 }=12.2 \ \text{m} \ \\ a=7 + \dfrac{ 3 }{ 5 }=\dfrac{ 38 }{ 5 }=7.6 \ \text{m} \ \\ \ \\ b=f-a=12.2-7.6=\dfrac{ 23 }{ 5 }=4.6 \ \text{m}$
