Find the simplest form of the following expression:

3 to the 2nd power - 1/4 to the 2nd power

Result

x =  8.938

#### Solution:

$x=3^2 - (\dfrac{ 1 }{ 4 } )^{ 2 }=\dfrac{ 143 }{ 16 }=8.9375=8.938$
