Ages

John, Teresa, Daniel and Paul have summary 56 years. Their ages are in a ratio of 1:2:5:6. Determine how many years have each of them.

Result

j =  4
t =  8
d =  20
p =  24

Solution:

$x = 56/(1+2+5+6) = 4 \ \\ j = 1 \cdot \ x = 1 \cdot \ 4 = 4$
$t=2 \cdot \ x = 8$
$d=5 \cdot \ x = 20$
$p=6 \cdot \ x = 24$
