The sides

The sides of a rectangle are in a ratio of 2:3, and its perimeter is 1 1/4 inches. What are the lengths of its side? Draw it.

Result

a =  0.25
b =  0.375

Solution:

a = 2/3 b
2(a+b) = 1 + 1/4

3a-2b = 0
8a+8b = 5

a = 14 = 0.25
b = 38 = 0.375

Calculated by our linear equations calculator.
