# Speed of sound

The average speed of sound is 330 meters per second. Estimate how long it will hear the church bell 1 km away. Calculate the distance from what would hear sound after 10 seconds.

Result

x =  3.03 s
y =  3.3 km

#### Solution:

$x=1000/330=3.03 \ \text{s}$
$y=0.33 \cdot \ 10=\dfrac{ 33 }{ 10 }=3.3 \ \text{km}$
