Tables

The ninth-grade students are on a day trip. In the morning, the group had refreshments at a sweet shop. They sat at tables in groups of three and filled all the seats. At lunch, they sat at tables in groups of four and again filled all the seats. There were two fewer tables at lunch than at the sweet shop. How many students are on the trip, and how many tables were there at each venue?

Final Answer:

n =  24
s1 =  8
s2 =  6

Step-by-step explanation:

3 ...  prime number 4=22 LCM(3,4)=223=12  k=LCM(3,4)=12  n/4+2=n/3  n=24
s1=n/3=24/3=8
s2=n/4=24/4=6
