Two sisters

Two sisters together have 54 CDs. 6/8 CDs has younger sister and is equal to 3/5 of CDs older sisters. How many CDs has each of the sisters?

Result

a =  24
b =  30

Solution:

a+b=54
6/8a = 3/5b

a+b = 54
30a-24b = 0

a = 24
b = 30

Calculated by our linear equations calculator.
