The escalator

I run up the escalator constantly in the stairs' direction and write down the number of steps A we climbed. Then we turned around, ran it at the same constant speed in the opposite direction, and wrote down the number of steps B that I climbed. If A = 24 and B = 264, how many steps are visible at any one time on the escalator?

Final Answer:

x =  144

Step-by-step explanation:

x = 24+v x = 264v  24+v=264v  2v=240  v=2240=120  v=120  x=24+v=24+120=144
