$V = \pi r^2 x \ \\ V = \pi (D/2)^2 x \ \\ x = \dfrac{ V }{ \pi (D/2)^2 } \ \\ x = \dfrac{ 1000 \cdot 24 }{ \pi \cdot ( 36/2)^2 } = 23.58 \ \text{ cm }$
