# Oceans

The Earth's surface is approximately 510,000,000 km2 and is 7/10 covered by oceans. Of which 1/2 covers the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean 1/4, the Indian Ocean 1/5 and the Arctic Ocean 1/20. What parts of the Earth's surface cover each ocean?

Correct result:

T =  178500000 km2
A =  89250000 km2
I =  71400000 km2
L =  17850000 km2

#### Solution:

$T=510000000 \cdot \ 7/10 \cdot \ 1/2=178500000 \ \text{km}^2=1.785000\cdot 10^{ 8 } \ \text{km}^2$
$A=510000000 \cdot \ 7/10 \cdot \ 1/4=89250000 \ \text{km}^2=8.925000\cdot 10^{ 7 } \ \text{km}^2$
$I=510000000 \cdot \ 7/10 \cdot \ 1/5=71400000 \ \text{km}^2=7.140000\cdot 10^{ 7 } \ \text{km}^2$
$L=510000000 \cdot \ 7/10 \cdot \ 1/20=17850000 \ \text{km}^2=1.785000\cdot 10^{ 7 } \ \text{km}^2$
