Fuel mileage

You have 3/8 tank of fuel. Estimate fuel consumption @ 6mpg. Estimate speed @ 50mph. Your fuel tank holds 200 gals. Figure out fuel mileage.

Result

s =  450 mil
t =  9 h

Solution:

$V = 200 \cdot \ 3/8 = 75 \ \\ s = 6 \cdot \ V = 6 \cdot \ 75 = 450 = 450 \ \text{ mil }$
$v = 50 \ \\ t = s / v = 450 / 50 = 9 = 9 \ \text{ h }$
