# Perpendicular prism

Calculate the volume of the perpendicular prism if its height is 60.8 cm and the base is a rectangular triangle with 40.4 cm and 43 cm legs.

Result

V =  52810.88 cm3

#### Solution:

$h = 60.8 \ cm \ \\ a = 40.4 \ cm \ \\ b = 43 \ cm \ \\ \ \\ S_{ 1 } = a \cdot \ b/2 = 40.4 \cdot \ 43/2 = \dfrac{ 4343 }{ 5 } = 868.6 \ \\ \ \\ V = S_{ 1 } \cdot \ h = 868.6 \cdot \ 60.8 = 52810.88 = 52810.88 \ cm^3$
