# Cuprum

From 1600 mm long sheet of copper plate 2 mm thickness we have separated over the whole length the belt weighing 6000 g. Calculate belt width if 1 dm3 copper weighs 8.9 kg.

Correct result:

b =  210.7 mm

#### Solution:

$a = 1600 \ mm = 16 \ dm \ \\ h = 2 \ mm = 0.02 \ dm \ \\ m = 6000 \ g = 6 \ kg \ \\ \ \\ m = \rho V = \rho a b h \ \\ b = \dfrac{ m}{ \rho a h } = \dfrac{ 6}{ 8.9 \cdot 16 \cdot 0.02 } \cdot 100 = 210.7 \ \text{mm}$
