# Trapezium bases

Find the trapezium height if a = 8 cm and c = 4 cm if its content 21 square centimeters.

Result

h =  3.5 cm

#### Solution:

$a=8 \ \\ c=4 \ \\ S=21 \ \\ S=(a+c)h/2 \ \\ h=2 \cdot \ S/(a+c)=2 \cdot \ 21/(8+4)=\dfrac{ 7 }{ 2 }=3.5 \ \text{cm}$
