# Stock market 2

For the week of July 22, the following day to day changes in the stock market was recorded a certain stock: -2 on Monday; +4 Tuesday; -8 Wednesday; + 2 1/2 Thursday; - 3 1/4 Friday. The stock began the week at 78 points. How many points did it finish with at the end of the week?

Result

a5 =  68.75

#### Solution:

$a_{0}=78 \ \\ a_{1}=a_{0}-2=78-2=76 \ \\ a_{2}=a_{1} +4=76 +4=80 \ \\ a_{3}=a_{2}-8=80-8=72 \ \\ a_{4}=a_{3} + (2 + \dfrac{ 1 }{ 2 } )=72 + (2 + \dfrac{ 1 }{ 2 } )=\dfrac{ 149 }{ 2 }=74.5 \ \\ a_{5}=a_{3} -(3 + \dfrac{ 1 }{ 4 } )=72 -(3 + \dfrac{ 1 }{ 4 } )=\dfrac{ 275 }{ 4 }=68.75$
