Volume of a tank

A part of the equipment of a city laundry is a water tank. If it is empty, it fills completely with the inlet valve fully open in 24 minutes. If it is full, it empties completely with the outlet valve fully open in 30 minutes. If this outlet valve is fully open for 6 minutes, 4.8 m3 of water will remain in the tank.

a) calculate the volume of the tank in m3
b) the volume of water in litres that can flow into the tank in 1 minute,
c) the volume of water in litres that can flow out of the tank in 1 minute

Final Answer:

V =  6 m3
V1 =  250 l
V2 =  200 l

Step-by-step explanation:

V6/30 V=4.8  24V=144  V=24144=6  V=6=6 m3
V0=V l=V 1000  l=6 1000  l=6000 l  V1=241 V0=241 6000=241 6000=246000=250 l
V2=301 V0=301 6000=301 6000=306000=200 l
