# Square

Calculate the area of the square shape of the isosceles triangle with the arms 50m and the base 60m. How many tiles are used to pave the square if the area of one tile is 25 dm2?

Result

S =  1200 m2
n =  4800

#### Solution:

$r=50 \ \text{m} \ \\ z=60 \ \text{m} \ \\ \ \\ h=\sqrt{ r^2 - (z/2)^2 }=\sqrt{ 50^2 - (60/2)^2 }=40 \ \text{m} \ \\ \ \\ S=\dfrac{ z \cdot \ h }{ 2 }=\dfrac{ 60 \cdot \ 40 }{ 2 }=1200 \ \text{m}^2$
$S_{1}=25 \ dm^2=25 / 100 \ m^2=0.25 \ m^2 \ \\ \ \\ n=S/S_{1}=1200/0.25=4800$
