# Diagonal

Calculate the length of the diagonal of the rectangle ABCD with sides a = 8 cm, b = 7 cm.

Result

u =  10.6 cm

#### Solution:

$u^2 = a^2 + b^2 \ \\ u = \sqrt{ a^2 + b^2} = \sqrt{ 8^2 + 7^2} = 10.6 \ \text{cm}$
